Thomas Named GLVC Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Cal Thomas (Rochester), the Great Lakes Valley Conference's leading scorer, has been honored by the league as its men's soccer Player of the Week.
Thomas scored both goals in a 2-1 victory over GLVC-rival Southern Indiana. He scored a goal in SIUE's 4-0 victory against Rockhurst and added an assist in a 5-0 win over Kentucky Wesleyan.
Thomas, who has 12 goals and five assists on the year, has helped the 12th-ranked Cougars to a 13-2 record. SIUE is currently riding a 12-game winning streak.
SIUE will next be in action Saturday when it travels to Bellarmine for a 2:30 p.m. start.
The Cougars also will play Lewis on Monday in a makeup contest set for 4 p.m. at Korte Stadium.
