Thomas Selected First Overall
in MISL Amateur Draft
         Cal Thomas, a 2003 first team All-American at SIU Edwardsville, was selected by the St. Louis Steamers as the first overall pick in the Major Indoor Soccer League Amateur Draft.
         Thomas had 13 goals and 32 points for the Cougars in 2003, who advanced to the NCAA II Tournament. Thomas was also named to the All-Region and All-Great Lakes Valley Conference first teams.
         Thomas ends his career at SIU Edwardsville tied for 22nd on the all-time goals scored list. He is 23rd all-time on SIUE's points list with 52.
         The St. Louis Steamers are one of nine teams that make up the MISL. It's home games are played at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
