The Cougars, in their first year since regaining varsity status, were the No. 7 team in the Great Lakes Region. The regional tournament will be played May 1-3 at Prairie Bluff Golf Club in Crest Hill. SIUE needs to be among the top two teams to advance to the finals May 16-19 at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, W.V. Eighty teams and 50 individuals were selected to Super Regional competition. One site plays host to two regional championships. There are 10 regions nationwide in Division II men's golf. SIUE joins Grand Valley State, Ferris State, Northern Kentucky, Saginaw Valley State, Bellarmine, Northwood, and Indianapolis as the team qualified in the Great Lakes Region. The Cougars are led by All-Great Lakes Valley Conference performer Kyle Gansauer (Centralia), who holds a 74.4 scoring average.
