July 23, 2008 SIUE Men’s Basketball Announces Addition           EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Denykco Bowles, a 6-foot-7-inch forward, has joined the men’s basketball program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.           Bowles, a junior college transfer from Northeast (Neb.) Community College, is originally from Nassau, Bahamas and comes to SIUE with two years of eligibility.           SIUE Coach Lennox Forrester said Bowles has guard skills after growing several inches in one year. He can play and inside game as well as the outside game.           “I’m excited about his work ethic and athleticism,” said Forrester.           Bowles averaged 9.0 points and 8.6 rebounds per game last season at Northeast.           “He’s a hard worker and rebounder with great hands. He is a very versatile player,” said Forrester.           SIUE is in transition to NCAA Division I status. The Cougars recently became full members of the Ohio Valley Conference.                     -siue cougars-
