Gray Tabbed Second Team All-GLVC
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- T.J. Gray, who shattered the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's basketball school record for three-pointers in a season, has been named second team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference by a vote of the league's 14 coaches.
Gray helped SIUE garner an 17-11 record in Coach Lennox Forrester's first season at SIUE. Gray averaged 16.6 points per game and hit 102 three-pointers for the season. The old record for three-pointers was 74 by Ron Jones in the 2002-2003 season.
He is among the top three-point shooters in the nation, hitting 44.5 percent from beyond the arc.
Forrester said Gray was a vocal leader on the team and led by example.
"He meant a lot to this team team with his leadership and work ethic," said Forrester.
All 10 of the top players in the GLVC were seniors. The first team consists of Kentucky Wesleyan's Jeff Fahnbulleh, Kentucky Wesleyan's Rodney Edgerson, Drury's Collins Harris, Quincy's Andre Muse, and Southern Indiana's Norman Plummer. Gray was joined on the second team by Lewis' Stephan Bolt, Saint Joseph's Ronald Coleman, Bellarmine's Dzaflo Larkai, and Northern Kentucky's Harrison Morton.
