Cougars Regain Footing
         EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. -- Nick Arth scored a career-high 20 points Saturday as Southern Illinois University Edwardsville cruised past Kentucky Wesleyan 64-47 at the Vadalabene Center.
         SIUE, 10-5 overall and 6-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, got off to an outstanding 16-4 start in the first seven minutes of the game on a Jeremy Gathing dunk with 13:19 to play in the first half.
         Arth shot 8 of 14 from the field and added four assists. Mike Hardiek was the only other Cougar in double figures with 14 points. J.B. Jones scored just three points but got the job done with five assists and five steals.
         SIUE forced Kentucky Wesleyan into 26 turnovers. The Panthers did frustrate the Cougars on the boards with a 35-20 edge. Jeff Fahbulleh led KWC with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Rodney Edgerson add 15 points and six offensive rebounds.
         SIUE's offense committed just nine turnovers.
         KWC's record fell to 8-6 overall and 1-6 in the GLVC.
         The Cougars next head to Rensselaer, Ind., for a 7:30 p.m. matchup Thursday against Saint Joseph's.
