2005-2006 Men's Player of the Week Quincy University sophomore guard Andre Muse is Great Lakes Valley Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week after he helped extend Quincy’s winning streak to seven games and helped the Hawks wrap up the West Division’s No. 1 seed in the GLVC Tournament with a pair of wins over Drury University (73-48) and Rockhurst University (79-65). Against Drury, Muse’s 19 points and 11 rebounds was his third double-double of the season. He shot six-for-nine from the field and five-for-six in free throws and had three assists. In the win over Rockhurst, Muse recorded 20 points, shooting a perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line, making all eight of his free throws in the final three minutes of the game. He also tallied seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists. For the week, Muse averaged 19.5 points, nine rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, shooting 52.9 percent from the field and 95 percent (19-for-20) in free throws. Muse, who failed to start Saturday for the first time this season because of Senior Day, is third on the team with 12.1 points per game. He is second on the team in free throw percentage (106 of 137) and is third with 53 assists.
