Cougars Ranked for School-Record Sixth Straight Week
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's basketball notched another milestone on Tuesday as the Cougars ranked in the top 25 nationally for the sixth consecutive week setting a new school-record. SIUE was ranked in the top 25 for five weeks during the 1986-87 season from February 2 until March 2.
The Cougars jumped into the rankings this year on Jan 4. and are now ranked No. 18 in the nation despite falling at Lewis 69-62 this past Saturday. SIUE outlasted Wisconsin-Parkside 66-64 on Thursday night.
SIUE, 18-5 overall and 11-3 in Great Lakes Valley Conference, is one game behind Southern Indiana for first place.
SIUE Coach Marty Simmons and his Cougars continue a four game swing this Thursday traveling to Pepsi Arena to face Quincy. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
