Cougars Hammer Robert Morris
Tyler Hackstadt scored a game-high 18 points as SIUE topped Robert Morris (Ill.) 81-47 Tuesday night at the Vadalabene Center.
SIUE improves to 6-4 on the season while Robert Morris dips to 6-12.
The Cougars opened the game with a 22-4 run during the first ten minutes. It took a 26-point lead into halftime and led by as much as 36 in the second half.
Dan Heimos scored a career-high 10 points and recorded five blocks. Ron Jones finished with 15 points and Justin Ward chipped in 11. Tim Bauersachs established a career-high with four steals.
As a team, SIUE shot 47 percent from the field. Robert Morris shot 29 percent, which included a 21-percent shooting effort in the first half.
SIUE outrebounded Robert Morris 42-39.
SIUE will take to the road Friday when it visits Missouri-St. Louis in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
