history… Ronnie Banks had a big week, scoring 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting

Joseph’s… The Rivermen will not make the GLVC tournament this season after
having qualified in each of the first three seasons under Coach Mark Bernsen.
Northern Kentucky - NKU's 20-game home win streak was halted Thursday night
by Southern Indiana during an 87-85 overtime loss ... NKU's 71-68 setback
against Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday marked the first time since the 1993-94
season that the Norse have been swept on a GLVC homestand. In February of
1994, the Norse dropped consecutive home games against Bellarmine and
Kentucky State ... sophomore guard Mike Kelsey extended his streak of games
scoring in double figures to 16 by finishing with 16 points against Kentucky
Wesleyan.
Quincy - The Quincy University men's basketball team dropped a pair of GLVC
games on this road this past week, falling at St. Joseph's College and at
Wisconsin-Parkside. The Hawks are in a battle for the 8th and final GLVC
Tournament spot, as QU finishes the regular season with three home games. The
Cougars of SIU Edwardsville come to town this Thursday, and Quincy
finishes with Southern Indiana and Kentucky Wesleyan next week. Senior center
Brian McNeil became the 5th all-time leading scorer in school history with a

Pumas' 10 wins represent a two-game improvement over last season.
SIU Edwardsville - SIUE is 1 1/2 games behind eighth-place Quincy with four
games left on its schedule. In order to make the eight-team GLVC Tournament,
the Cougars must win and hope for some help. It will not be easy. The good
news is they are playing the team they need to beat on Thursday in order to
have a chance to make the post-season. SIUE will travel to Quincy, before
heading to UMSL on Saturday. Both are winnable games despite the fact SIUE is
1-10 on the road this season. SIUE closes out the season, hosting KWC and

Rangers. He scored 15 against the Cougars and had another 15-point effort
against Quincy. In the Quincy tilt, Glen Barlow and Brian Maastricht also
scored 15 points in a balanced Ranger attack. The Rangers, the GLVC's top
defensive team, have a brutal schedule to close out the season with games at
Southern Indiana and Kentucky Wesleyan and home games versus Northern
Kentucky and Indianapolis.
Men's Notes
