November 5, 2005 Women’s Cross Country Finishes 18th At Great Lakes Regional BIG RAPIDS, MICH. - The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women’s cross country team placed 18th at the Great Lakes Regional on Saturday. The Cougars ended the meet with 489 points, while Great Lakes Region champion Grand Valley State had 29 points. Heather Zipparro, a senior, led the way for the Cougars finishing in 78th place with a time of 24 minutes, 33.20 seconds in the 6,000 meter race. Freshman Michelle Meador came in 87th with a mark of 24:50.50. Alcia Riggs placed 92nd with a time of 25:46.50. Elizabeth Williams came in 111th with a mark of 25:46.50. -siue cougars- |
