Women’s Cross Country Gets Set for Loyola Invite
          The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women’s cross country team finished in fifth place at the Panther Open this past weekend.
          SIUE has the week off before the Loyola Invitational on Oct. 1.
          The Cougar’s top finisher was Heather Zipparro (Mt. Prospect) who placed 19th with a mark of 19:48.93.
          “I am so proud of Heather,” said McAllister. “She has worked very hard over the summer and in practice to break out her senior year.“
          Chelsey Patterson (Sherman) came in 32nd for the Cougars with a time of 20:49.47.
          “Chelsey also had a big improvement from her first two races,” said McAllister. “She’s definitely getting back on track as evident in her improved race and practice times.”
