Erik Steffens Border Wars Results

October 6, 2007 Steffens Leads SIUE at Border Wars; Cougars Finish 13th           With his fourth consecutive top 10 finish, Erik Steffens (Moline) paced the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's cross country team.           Steffens continued to lead the Cougar team, with a sixth-place finish on his home course. His course time was 26 minutes, 30.04 seconds. Just more than four seconds later Kyle Cameron (East Moline) finished with a time of 26:34.75, good enough for ninth place.           The individual winner, Noah Too, of Mid America Nazarene, ran a time of 24:55.18. Evans Kiptoo of Lindenwood and Michael Pierce of Southwest Baptist came in second and third place, respectively.           The top three team finishers were Southwest Baptist, Northern Kentucky, and Central Missouri. SIUE finished 13th in team scoring.           Other individual finishers for the Cougars were Steven Werths (Granite City), Sean Gosewish (Lockport), Shawn Dillard (Granite City), and Ryan Wessling (Lockport).           The Cougars next action is Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships in Indianapolis.                     -siue cougars-
