September 25, 2007 Courtesy GLVC Sports Information SIUE’s Cameron Selected GLVC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week           Junior Runner Guides Cougars at Saluki Invitational           INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Kyle Cameron (East Moline, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Cameron, a junior runner for the Cougars, posted a strong showing at the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Illinois on Saturday.           Cameron finished the 8,000-meter course in a time of 26:56.19 to finish 13th overall. He battled the hot and muggy conditions and hilly course to help SIU Edwardsville claim a third-place team finish in the eight-team event.           Paired with teammate Erik Steffens who brought home a fourth-place finish for the Cougars, SIUE was one of four teams with two runners in the top 15. The Cougars finished with a team score of 117, tying Missouri Baptist for third place. Southern Illinois won the meet with a score of 23.           SIUE will have a week off before returning to action at home for the Border Wars on October 6.           Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Geoff Hughes and UW-Parkside’s Chris Orvold.           For more information about the GLVC and each conference member, please visit www.glvcsports.org.                     -siue cougars-
