September 17, 2007 Steffens, Cameron Pace Cougars           Two Southern Illinois University Edwardsville cross country runners moved into the top 12 all-time in 8,000-meter times Friday.           Erik Steffens (Moline) ran his race in 25 minutes 14.41 seconds and placed second at the Eastern Illinois Invitational. Kyle Cameron (East Moline) placed third in 25:17.43. Both were career bests and put Steffens at No. 6 all-time and Cameron at No. 12.           SIUE assistant coach Eileen McAllister said great weather helped propel the duo.           "We finished fourth at the meet, and just 12 points out of second place," she said.           Steven Werths (Granite City) dropped nearly a minute off his 8,000-meter time. His 26:41 at Eastern Illinois was a meet, season and all-time best.           McAllister also welcomes back Ryan Wessling (Lockport), who ran his first race of the season at EIU. "He's looking very strong, rebounding from an ankle injury," said McAllister.           SIUE will now head to Carbondale for the Saluki Invitational.
