October 10, 2005 Men's Cross Country Places Fifth At Border Wars EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - Senior Brian Taghon (East Moline) led the way for the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men’s cross country team with a third place finish at the Illinois/Missouri Border Wars last Saturday. The Cougars finished with 195 points as DePauw won the event. SIUE travels to the Millikin Invitational this weekend to gear up before the Great Lakes Valley Conference championships on Oct. 22. Taghon finished with a time of 25 minutes, 23:80 seconds just 13.40 second behind the winner of the 8,000 meter event. Taghon has finished in the top five of every event he has raced in this season. Erik Steffens (Moline) placed 14th for SIUE with a mark of 26:04.36. Kyle Cameron (East Moline) came in 56th with a time of 27:01.18 -siue cougars- |
