 Brian Taghon | October 1, 2005 Taghon Wins Loyola Invitational CHICAGO, ILL. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville senior Brian Taghon won his second consecutive race on Saturday at the 33rd Annual Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational. Taghon finished with a time of 25 minutes, 26 seconds in the 8,000 meter race. He came in three seconds ahead of Case Western's Stephen Hrinda in second place. The Cougars placed fourth with 105 points as Macalester won the race with 93 points. Erik Steffens finished in fifth place with a mark of 25:49. Brian Getz placed 29th with a time of 26:55. SIUE hosts the Illinois/Missouri Border Wars next Saturday at the SIUE Cross Country Course. The event begins at 10 a.m. -siue cougars- |
