July 18, 2008 Fredbloom Signs with SIUE Baseball           EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Southern Illinois University Edwardsville baseball added another quality player to the roster with the addition of Ben Fredbloom (Lansing).           Fredbloom will be an incoming freshman after graduating from Thornton Fractional South High School, where he was a standout catcher.           SIUE Associate Head Coach Tony Stoecklin said the Cougars have the 6-foot-3-inch Fredbloom inked in as a catcher and an outfielder.           “Ben is a big, strong kid with some impressive baseball skills,” said Stoecklin. “He has a great arm and a powerful swing.”           Fredbloom hit .404 his senior season at Thornton Fractional South. That includes eight doubles, six home runs and 39 runs batted in.                   -siue cougars-
