Game 1 Boxscore Game 2 Boxscore May 3, 2008 Cougars Split With Miners           EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville baseball team split a doubleheader with the University of Missouri S&T today.           In game one, SIUE, 23-24 overall and 17-14 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, the Cougars were able to light up the scoreboard with 12 runs off of 14 hits.           Andrew Beatty (Aurora) struck out six batters in six innings of work and improved his record to 5-3 on the season. SIUE won 12-1.           In the second game, Missouri S&T scored two runs in the top of the ninth as a result of two SIUE errors.           Daniel Bennet (Klamath Falls Ore.) took credit for the loss, dropping his record to 1-2 on the season. SIUE lost 11-10.           Cougar fans will have to wait until the end of the weekend when all of the GLVC games are complete before SIUE's post season fate is known.           On Sunday, SIUE will close out the four-game series against Missouri S&T.
