March 22, 2008 SIUE, Rockhurst Split Saturday           KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Andrew Beatty recorded Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's first complete-game victory of the season as the Cougars and Rockhurst settled for a split Saturday.           SIUE, 10-9 overall and 4-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, won game one 5-1 while Rockhurst, 9-14 overall and 3-5 in the GLVC, took the nightcap 5-3. It was the fourth straight doubleheader split for the Cougars.           Beatty gave up just three hits in his first win of the season. He is now 1-2 for the Cougars.           Michael Hopkins led SIUE with a 4-for-4 performance at the plate. The Cougar left fielder is now the team's leading hitter with a .409 batting average through 19 games.           SIUE outhit Rockhurst in game one 13-3.           Rockhurst hurler James Lewis went the distance in a 5-3 nightcap win. Jordan Myers scored one run and drove home three more for the Hawks.           SIUE's Adam Eggemeyer hit his fourth home run of the season, a solo blast in the second inning.           SIUE returns home Wednesday for a 6 p.m. non-conference game against Central Missouri.                   -siue cougars-
