November 22, 2006 SIUE Baseball Signs Pinckneyville Twins         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville baseball will soon be seeing double.         Zach Hawkins (Pinckneyville) and Thad Hawkins (Pinckneyville) have signed national letters of intent to play baseball next season for the Cougars.         SIUE Assistant Coach Tony Stoecklin said the twins both are anxious to become Cougars.         "We're excited to sign both of them, and we're hoping they can get some great playing time as freshman," said Stoecklin.         Zach Hawkins is a infielder, primarily at third base but could see some action at first base..         "Zach has got some pop in his bat. He has some extra-base power," said Stoecklin.         Thad Hawkins is primarily an outfielder.         "Thad is a strong, solid centerfielder with a great arm and an outstanding bat," said Stoecklin.         The duo has one more season left of prep baseball at Pinckneyville High School and will join SIUE's baseball team for the 2008 season.                 -siue cougars-
