May 17, 2007 Boxscore Saginaw Valley Stops Cougars         AKRON, OHIO -- Scott Schlaff tossed a complete game Thursday as Saginaw Valley State outdueled Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 7-3 in the opening game of the NCAA Division II North Central Regional.         Saginaw Valley State improved to 34-12 while SIUE dropped to 37-16 overall. The Cougars will face Grand Valley State at 3 p.m. CST, looking to avoid elimination.         Schlaff allowed all three of the runs in the third inning. The Cougars rapped three hits in the inning and scored on a double steal.         The Cardinals rallied for four runs in the top of the second inning. It was all Saginaw Valley State would need. Saginaw Valley picked up seven runs total on 10 hits and four SIUE errors.         James Hertel suffered the loss, surrendering all seven runs in six innings. Three runs were unearned. Cody Litteken threw the final three innings and allowed just one hit out of the bullpen.                 -siue cougars-
