April 30, 2007 Doll Named GLVC Player of the Week         INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Afer posting an oustanding week at the plate, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville first baseman Steve Doll was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference baseball Player of the Week.         Doll, a junior, helped the Cougars to six wins last week, extending SIUE's win streak to seven games as the teams heads into the final week of regular season play.         Doll batted .435 for the week in games against Drury and Lewis. He collected seven RBIs in SIUE’s 23-4 game one win over Drury. Doll was 3 for 5 in the game with a home run and triple. He returned in SIUE’s 6-1 win in the day’s second game versus Drury to go 1 for 4 with two RBIs, including the game-winning hit.         Doll was 6 of 14 in SIUE’s four-game sweep of Lewis this past weekend. He went 4 for 5 with four RBIs and three runs scored in the Cougars’ 18-2 win on Friday.         For the week, Doll finished 10 for 23 with 15 RBIs, 10 runs scored, four walks, a triple and home run. Doll is hitting .277 this season.         The Cougars, 32-13, begin the week 23-10 in GLVC play and in first place in the league standings.                 -siue cougars-
