SIUE Takes UMSL 5-0
        EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. -- The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville baseball team blanked the University of Missouri-St. Louis 5-0 Thursday at Roy Lee Field.
        The non-conference win brought the Cougars to 24-12 on the season while UMSL fell to 15-17.
        SIUE's Mike White, who allowed just one hits over seven innings, picked up the win to improve his record to 2-1. Luke Vine and Adam Schneider worked the final two innings for SIUE. UMSL's Dan O'Heron picked up the loss as he dropped to 1-2.
        The game was tied 0-0 until the bottom of the fifth when Cory Bunner scored on an error. Daniel Thomson later doubled home Ben Bartley and Ryan Czyz to give the Cougars a 3-0 lead.
        SIUE then added a run in the seventh with a single by Czyz that brought home Bunner. The Cougars added another run in the eighth on three UMSL errors. UMSL finished the game with eight errors total
        In the loss, UMSL's Tony Soaib played all nine positions. He pitched one out in the eighth inning.
        SIUE will play UMSL again in a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. at Roy Lee Field.
