April 2, 2007 SIUE Sweeps GLVC Weekly Honors         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville swept the Great Lakes Valley Conference honors this week receiving both the Player and Pitcher of the Week.         Cougar shortstop Cory Bunner (Jacksonville) received Player of the Week honors while James Hertel (Hillsboro) was the Pitcher of the Week.         The junior shortstop recorded a .500 batting average with 13 hits during his 26 at bats over the six games last week. SIUE was 5-1 overall for the week as a team.         Bunner ended the weekend with a 4-for-6 performance in SIUE's 22-11 victory against Kentucky Wesleyan. It was the most runs SIUE has scored ever in a GLVC contest.         Bunner knocked in seven RBIs with two doubles and one triple. He also had two stolen bases on the week.         Hertel earned his second GLVC Pitcher of the Week honor as he threw a two-hitter in his win against Kentucky Wesleyan on Mar. 31.         The senior right-hander struck out 14 KWC batters during his eight innings pitched.         The team is next scheduled to play Saturday at Southern Indiana. SIUE's doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday was cancelled due to impending inclement weather in Kenosha, Wis.                 -siue cougars-
