Player of the Week
       Saint Joseph’s College senior first baseman Mike Victor is Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week after leading the Pumas to a 3-1 slate over Bellarmine University.
       Victor drove in at least one run in every game, recorded five hits, posted a 1.000 slugging percentage, and led SJC in RBI (6) and runs scored (4). He had his first career multi-homer game in the final home game of his career Sunday against Bellarmine, with his second blast igniting a three-run rally to tie the score and send the game into extra innings.
       The Pumas enter the 2006 GLVC Baseball Tournament as the number five seed and face number two seed Quincy University Thursday at 4 p.m.

Pitcher of the Week
       Southern Illinois University Edwardsville senior Kyle Jones is Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time this season after he broke the NCAA record for complete-game shutouts with his sixth of the season in a one-hitter against the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
       Jones, who has a no-hitter and two one-hitters this season, has been involved in nine of SIUE’s NCAA-record 19 shutouts this season. On Saturday against UMSL, took a no-hitter into the seventh inning only to lose it with one out in the seventh. He struck out 11 batters. Jones finished the regular season with a 9-1 record and a 0.74 earned run average in 73 innings pitched.
       SIU Edwardsville is the number four seed entering the 2006 GLVC Baseball Tournament. They face number three seed Rockhurst University Thursday at 7 p.m.
