June 23, 2005 Cougars Sign White         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville baseball coach Gary Collins announced today the signing of Mike White (East Peoria) for his 2006 roster.         White comes to SIUE from Illinois Central College where he has played his last two seasons. Amerson becomes the 10th player to sign for SIUE's 2006 recruiting class.         White, a 6-foot-1-inch lefthanded pitcher, notched a 5-4 mark with a 3.52 earned run average in 69 innings pitched last season for the Cougars. White fanned 44 batters, with 18 base on balls, and allowing 72 hits.         "He is a quality left-handed pitcher," said SIUE assistant coach Tony Stoecklin. "Mike will make some starts for us as well as making some appearances out of the bullpen."         White joins fellow former Illinois Central College teammates Jake Smith, Brian Newby, and Cameron Cheek, to go along with Dan Fletcher, who has already signed to play for SIUE in 2006.         Amerson played baseball at East Peoria High School.               -siue cougars-
