SIUE Baseball Sweeps KWC
        O'FALLON, MO. - Southern Illinois University notched a pair of wins over Kentucky Wesleyan 1-0 and 4-2 in college baseball action Tuesday at T.R. Hughes Ballpark.
        The Cougars, 11-6 overall and 6-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, were led by their pitching as Derek Stratman picked up both saves. Stratman pitched four scorless innings with five strikeouts.
        The Panthers fall to 6-13 overall and 5-7 in the GLVC.
        Stratman closed the door in game one for Jared Rettberg, who pitched five innings of shutout baseball striking out three and allowing just one hit.
        In the nightcap, Ryan Spurgeon notched the victory coming in relief to pick up his first win of the season. Jeff Darnall collected three hits in the contest, and Jeremy Bond, Craig Ohlau and Cory Bunner all had RBIs.
        The Cougars will take on Southern Indiana in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at T.R. Hughes Ballpark. First pitch is set for 1.
