Jones Named Second Team All-Region
Ron Jones (Kankakee) has been tabbed for the second team All-North Central Region by a vote of the region’s baseball coaches.
Jones, who was 6-1 with a 1.42 earned run average, was SIUE’s best pitcher the second half of the season, according to SIUE Coach Gary Collins. Jones joined the baseball Cougars after completing the basketball season, where he was among the team’s leading scorers.
SIUE completed the season with a 20-32 record. Along with victories and earned run average, Jones also led the team in complete games with three.
