Cougar Life Skills

The Cougar Life Skills program (A version of the NCAA CHAMPS/ Life Skills program) will enable student-athletes to take part in workshops, seminars, and community service projects that support the five CHAMPS commitment areas:
  • Academic Excellence
  • Athletic Excellence
  • Personal Development
  • Career Development
  • Community Service

The mission of the Champs/Life Skills program is to inspire student-athletes to continue their pursuit of excellence. Extensive programming is provided to enhance the development of student-athletes as students, citizens, and athletes.


Through the collaboration of SIUE's Kimmel Leadership Center, Career Development Center, Wellness Center, ROTC, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and the Athletic Department, Student-Athletes can take part in programs coving topics like:
*Alcohol and Drugs
*Developing Self-Esteem
*Managing Stress
*Career Development
*Conflict Resolution
*Professional Etiquette
*Motivating Others
*Nutrition/ Healthy Eating
*Community Outreach
