To celebrate Valentine's Day, the Wellness Center sponsored "Love Fest" Monday in the Vadalabene Center.
"It is a social and educational event about sexual responsibilities and relationships," said Amy Klueter, a senior interning with the Wellness Center. She put together the event as part of Wellness Week and for part of her senior requirement.
This is the first year "Love Fest" took place and many organizations participated. Many groups handed out condoms and pamphlets on sexually transmitted diseases and sexual responsibilities.
The Wellness Center held a game called "Wheel of Misfortune," where contestants spun a wheel and were asked a question about the topic they landed on for prizes.
Eta Sigma Gamma, an honorary health organization, held a bake sale. Members of SIUE Counseling Services and Health Services also attended and handed out pamphlets and candy.
All other organizations were from surrounding communities. They provided information about their organizations and many handed out condoms.
The organization Bethany Place brought the AIDS Project Quilt, which was displayed on the gym floor.
"The turnout has been good and the groups attending have been helpful," said Klueter.
