The women of the Alpha Phi Sorority are showing men how they can become kings of women's hearts.

The fourth annual Alpha Phi King of Hearts auction will be at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Maryville, 2822 Center St.

Any male SIUE student is welcome to participate in the fund-raiser for heart disease research and care.

Student organizations are encouraged to pick a candidate to enter the auction. The entry fee is $10. The King of Hearts, or the man with the most money, receives a prize package. Other participants will receive a T-shirt and consolation prize.

Bids start at $3 and each additional bid is a dollar. Women can bid on favorite participants individually or on an organization.

Proceeds will benefit Alpha Phi's national cardiac-care and research program.

Amanda Drosner of Alpha Phi is organizing the fund-raiser. The goals are "to raise money for our cardiac care, have a good turnout and have a lot of school organizations participate," Drosner said.

A dance is scheduled immediately after the King of Hearts auction. Admission is $3.

For more information or to participate, call Amanda Drosner at 650-4237.
