The freshman who was the first confirmed case of bacterial meningitis at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville is said to be in excellent condition and was to be released on Wednesday.

Senator Hobson receives Lincoln Academy Laureate Award
Senator Randy Hobson was recently named a Student Laureate by The Lincoln Academy of Illinois at the 22nd Annual Student Laureate Awards Ceremony held in Springfield on Sat., Nov. 23. Hobson was just one of the 51 students to receive the award at this year's ceremony.
