SIUE roadways resemble the surface of the moon
Many terms have been used to describe the parking lots at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Lunar Lot, Crater Field and the Demilitarized Zone are just a few. These names have been invented over the last few years whenever SIUE parking lots are discussed due to all the potholes on campus.

Dr. Joycelyn Elders, professor of Pediatric Endocrinology at hte University of Arkansas and former Surgeon General of the United States, spoke in the Meridian Ballroom of the University Center on Jan. 30, as a guest of the Arts and Issues Program.

Keith Nichols of Glen Carbon, IL was named assistant news director of University News Services at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville on Jan. 13, 1997.
