Dwayne T. Bess - President

Senior

Greetings fellow students! I, Dwayne Bess pledge the following:

To increase student awareness on S.G. issues. Build a communal atmosphere. Increase student body representation. Make diverse student body more interactive. Create incentives for organization to bring new programs on campus. Stimulate retention on graduating metro students to improve scholastics and athletics

A.J. Harshbarger - Vice President

Sophomore

While in office, I plan to fulfill my duties to the fullest and assist the students in any possible way in order to provide equal representation. Also, the before mentioned issues are of the highest priority. As the leader of the Senate, I assure you your voice will be heard!

Michelle King - Senator

Sophomore

The most important thing that I will try to accomplish while in office is to represent the student body of SIUE to the best of my ability. I will listen to the concerns of all students and hopefully help to solve their problems.

Ben Landfried - Senator

Freshman

I hope to play an important role in improving student life and campus community. I feel that a more diverse range of extracurricular/recreational activities can help accomplish my objectives. Most importantly I hope to act as a voice for students by supporting their concerns and acting in their best interest.

Christina Flannery - Senator

Junior

As a student at SIUE for two years I have noticed the areas in need of improvement. Parking is a definite concern because green stickers are limited, but how many times have you seen the lot full? Also, to improve the attendance of events, I think the campus should provide better incentives.

Jason L. Holzum - Trustee

Senior

I will continue to represent the students to the Board. Not only will I continue to voice the concerns of the students but I will make sure that the people of SIUE have equal representaion and say in matters of the Board.

Jinnifer L. Calabrese - Vice President

Senior

I've had the opportunity to observe and interact with the university community, where I gained insight into issues surrounding the campus. If elected vice president I will focus on reflecting your concerns and acting on behalf of the students. I will use my experience to invest in students and work to increase the quality of education and campus life.

Mary A. Flack - Senator

Senior

I would like to find activities and programs that will benefit all students. I realize that there is no one activity or program that will benefit everyone, but each student should benefit from at least one activity or program since every student provides funding.

Furthermore, I will represent the students by voting only for fee increases that are supported by the student body.

Stacey Michelle Franklin - Senator

Freshman

Hello my name is Stacey Franklin, and if selected as a Student Senator I will try hard to meet Student needs. While in office I will listen to student voices, and resolve their complaints. Also, if elected I plan to get students involved in voicing their concerns by holding assemblies open to all. When electing your senators, vote on the candidates that plan on working for students and their needs.

R. Shawn Williams - Senator

If chosen as Senator I, R. Shawn Williams, plan to promote campus life by keeping students well informed about and motivate you to be involved in campus activities. I will further the interests of the student body by informing students of how their money is being allocated and why.

Johnalan Ashby Norris - Senator

Sophomore

While in office I plan to be a voice of the students to school officials. I will represent all students, not only in matters that affect current students but also plans that will affect future students, such as increases in student fees and building on and around campus.

Twanna Alexander - Senator

Junior

We all have concerns, which are not always addressed. What I hope to make a reality for our student body is to improve upon campus life by promoting an exciting environment after class, and expand on current forms of recruitment of new students to form a more culturally diverse campus.

Philip J. Gustafson - Senator

Junior

While in office as Student Senator, I will try to vote into effect policies that enhance Campus Life, which I feel is vital with the new Residence Hall and with the more than two thousand students already living on campus.

Anthony Martin - Senator

Freshman

If elected, I will address the following: money management, expanding and improving student life, and encouraging community service. Our campus has great potential, if we come together to realize it. This can happen, if we have a voice to lead us. I want to be your voice in student government.

Melissa Glauber - Senator

Senior

As a student senator, I would like to fairly represent a diversified student body's ideas. The student body's welfare should be taken into consideration when voting on campus wide issues, such as, fee increases and policy changes. I would also like to simplify the administrative processes that consume students' time.

Andrew Ravanelli - Senator

Freshman

My goal is to become a more active leader in our school. I hope to promote campus life and increase the overall integrity of the University. I would like to take part seeing this university grow and reach its full potential.

Deonna Madison - Senator

I plan to provide more interesting events that will promote diversity on campus, and to make sure that the students' money for example, textbooks and parking stickers, are being spent in the best interest of the students.
