New policy offers finals help

Students with more than two final exams scheduled for the same day, or two exams scheduled for the same time, may request a reschedule.

Students should submit a written request to Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management Christa Oxford in Rendleman Hall 1207.

The request should include the student's name, identification number and list of scheduled courses.

The request must be received by Oxford at least two weeks prior to the first day of the exam period.

Spring finals for this semester are less than two weeks away, but Oxford said problems can be worked out.

"We'll also try and get their conflicts resolved," she said. She recommends students appeal as soon as possible.

Oxford said SIUE has always been able to deal with exam conflicts, but now a policy will be enforced.

"This is more for the future, than the past obviously," Oxford said.
