Enjoy Thanksgiving early at the Annual Turkey Feast

Even though it's not quite Thanksgiving time, that doesn't mean you can't start enjoying the holidays a little early. The 25th Annual Turkey Feast is Friday at the atrium in the Art and Design Building.

The Turkey Feast Banquet is free to all students and those who come are encouraged to bring food. Yet, what if you aren't great at whipping up some fine holiday cuisine? No problem.

The Turkey Feast is also awarding $25 for the most unusual and original dish. Plus more cash prizes will be awarded to the best-looking food container. Everyone is welcome, so break out the creativity and make sure the food you bring is edible.

The banquet will begin at 7 p.m., but those who would like to bring a dish should arrive early. The fun doesn't stop with just free food and prizes.

Following the dinner, there will be live music by St. Louis funk band Boogie Chyld from 8 p.m. to midnight. Boogie Chyld has made the top 10 lists for Best Cover Band and Best Band to Dance To by the Riverfront Times Awards. Their music covers the classic funk and disco tunes that make you want to boogie. The early holiday feast and entertainment has been successful in the past and hopes to continue the tradition.

"It's always a lot of fun, and everyone who came last year had a good time," coordinator Rick Dunn said. The Turkey Feast and Boogie Chyld show is free to everyone.
