United Campus Ministry is a shared ministry of the United Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Church (USA), the United Church of Christ, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and the Church of the Brethren. UCM is located in the Religious Center across the Visitors' Parking Lot from the Morris University Center.
The purpose of United Campus Ministry is to establish, maintain and evaluate a Christian ministry which will embrace and confront the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. By integrating the four aspects of fellowship, service, study and worship, United Campus Ministry hopes to provide the SIUE community with a place to grow and be challenged as well as find acceptance and love.
UCM understands the demands on the student's lifestyle. UCM hopes to provide students, faculty and staff with a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere to be oneself, meet other like-minded folks, and Come As You Are!
Thursday nights at 7 is our Spiritual Growth Group. We discuss many of the questions and the struggles we all face on our own spiritual journeys. Wednesdays at noon is our Sisters' Circle. This is an ecumenical, informal, "brown-bag" lunch time for women to share and to grow from each other's experience. Other UCM programs include (but are certainly not limited to!) "equal exchange" coffee ministry, monthly hands-on service projects, alternative break trips, host family support program, HOUSE (Housing Organization for United Students of Edwardsville) and more!
