University Center Board

The University Center Board (UCB) is a student-run organization that consists of the Advisory Board and the Program Council. The Advisory Board serves as the primary recommending body to the Director of the Morris University Center (MUC). Renovations, operations and policies of the MUC are just a few of the areas that the Advisory Board oversees.

These functions are facilitated by Advisory Board's three committees: Building Services and Facilities, Finance and Policy Review.

The Program Council acts as the main programming body of the university. Members of the Program Council plan, promote and produce many events and activities on campus such as concerts, lectures, Just for Laughs comedy series, International Night, LateNighter, Casino Night and Psychic Fair.

These programs are made possible through the work of the following committees: Advertising and Promotions, Current Affairs, Ethnic Flair, Performing Arts, Public Relations and Web Marketing, Recreation, Special Events and UC Attractions.

UCB is seeking creative, enthusiastic, team-oriented SIUE students to serve as Committee Members for the 2000-2001 academic year. Interested students may join one or more the Advisory Board or Program Council committees. UCB members earn volunteer hours that they may apply to completing the Student Leadership Development Program (SLDP). Interested candidates may apply online at http://www.siue.edu/UCB/application.html. Applications and brochures are also available in the Kimmel Leadership Center. To find out more about UCB, visit the UCB Welcome Week booth, drop by the UCB Office in the Kimmel Leadership Center, or browse our home page at http://www.siue.edu/UCB. /...
