The SIUE School of Nursing has inaugurated a new undergraduate curriculum. The new curriculum has many innovative features. These include a senior synthesis course, which allows students to gain a clinical experience in their senior year in the nursing specialty of choice. It also allows students to declare nursing as a major when they have completed their first semester and all identified deficiencies for the university. Admission to clinical coursework will occur after prerequisites are accomplished.
Nursing also now has an exciting new Honors Program. Inquiries about the requirements for admission and continuation may be obtained from Dr. Wendy Nehring at 650-3960. The Honors Program includes participation in a journal club and discussions with nursing leaders.
