Intervarsity Christian Fellowship is an interdenominational college fellowship that is part of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students with chapters found around the world. The goal of Intervarsity is to establish a community of Christians growing in its relationship with Jesus Christ and able to share His love with others.
The main focus of our chapter is the weekly small group Bible studies. These function as a nonthreatening place to worship God, study His Word and build relationships with others. There will be three different Bible studies this fall. One will be on the book of Ephesians, another will be on evangelism, and the third topic hasn't yet been decided upon. We will also be having an Investigative Bible Discussion meeting weekly, where people can look closely at the Scripture and decide for themselves whom Jesus is. Every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. there is a large group meeting for everyone involved in Intervarsity as well as friends, visitors and anyone who just wants to check it out. Large group meetings include worship, scripture readings and a speaker. Some of the topics for the fall large groups are the identity of Christ, missions, community, encouragement and world religions. Other opportunities include a retreat in late September, the Urbana missions convention in December, the Metamorphosis convention in February, and a week of chapter camp in upper-peninsula Michigan in May. There will also be opportunities to serve God through serving others.
