Dear Student, Welcome to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville! The faculty and staff of the School of Engineering extend an invitation to you to join us for the 2000-2001 school year. This academic year promises to be an exciting one for the entire university community and especially for the School of Engineering. We are now ready to begin our fall 2000 classes in our newly completed $21.3 million, state-of-the-art Engineering Building with multimedia-equipped classrooms and modern laboratory facilities. We offer various professional degree programs in Civil, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering as well as Computer Science and Construction. The School of Engineering assigns first priority to excellence in undergraduate education. If you have already decided to study in one of these areas, please consider declaring your major as early as possible so you can be assigned an engineering faculty member as your academic advisor. If you are still undecided, but you are considering engineering as a possible career path, we invite you to attend the Engineering and Technology Focused Interest Reception, Tuesday Aug. 29, 6 to 8 p.m. in Woodland Hall's Multipurpose Room.
