University Archives



The Louisa H. Bowen University Archives and Special Collections, Lovejoy Library, preserves the historical records of SIUE. These records include faculty publications, visual images and the papers of retired faculty members. Archives staff members assist researchers and campus administrators in locating historical information about the university.

The University Archives collects and microfilms for permanent preservation back issues of the Alestle. Microfilm of the entire run of the Alestle is shelved in the microtext area on the second floor of Lovejoy Library.

The University Archives continually accessions retired records from the administrative and the academic units of the university. Administrators, administrative assistants and secretaries should call 650-2665 to arrange for older unit records to be transferred to the University Archives for preservation. There is no charge for this service.
