Susan D. Wiediger: Research Interests
Curriculum Development
Introduction

In addition to people interested in doing research on my topic map or pattern language projects, I also welcome people who are interested in doing independent study working on developing or evaluating curriculum. This could include doing work on testing or developing materials for use at any level, from K-20+. Examples of possible projects include developing workshop or lab materials for use in college courses, preparation of educational road shows for area schools, or development of lesson plans and activities for a particular grade level and/or subject. Most such projects are developed in conversations between me and the interested person, so if you have an interest in such an area, please come talk to me.

Current/Past Projects

  • Tamara Penwell, 6th grade science teacher at Cahokia Middle School, developed lesson plans and activities for three chapters of the science curriculum in her classroom (Unit C). (Summer 2004)
  • Under current development, a team of Computer Science students are converting a paper Periodic Arranger activity to an online activity. Information about the C.L.I.P. team is here.
